Rooftop equipment screen cost is project-specific because every screen is custom fabricated. This page explains what sets price so you can brief a quote. We do not publish a price list. CME prices from lineal footage, height, panel style, finish, freight, and install needs once we see the roof.
Let's break it down. We fabricate from 26-gauge steel siding and trim with siliconized polyester finish. Panel style matters. Solid, PBR, and louver layouts carry different shop time and lead time. Finish tier and custom color matching also move the quote. Louver systems usually take longer in the shop than standard solid runs.
Taller screens and longer lineal footage use more material and framing. Multi-unit clusters, irregular footprints, and equipment that sits above the parapet line all change the shop layout. A short run that fully hides one unit can cost less than a long wall that only partly solves sight lines. Set height and length together.
Here is why location matters. Location sets wind and attachment documentation. Standard rating is 120 mph. Sites that exceed that need project engineering with your structural engineer of record. That adds coordination time and heavier hardware. Coastal, high-rise, and open-exposure roofs should flag wind early.
Nothing we ship is an off-the-shelf kit. Even standard panel styles are cut to field dimensions. Heavy customization, stepped roofs, and mixed heights raise drawing and fab hours compared with a simple rectangular run. Custom work is normal. That is also why ballpark lists fail.
Freight, crane or lift access, occupied buildings, and tight roofs change field cost. Nationwide install is available. The quote reflects real logistics, not a flat install adder. Night work, limited laydown, and phased roofs should be called out when you request pricing.
Some cities only need zoning height. Others want full mechanical roof screen details in plan review. Drawing depth and revision cycles are part of cost even when the steel looks similar on two roofs. Use our city requirements guide when you compare markets, then confirm with your AHJ.
Send the roof PDF, equipment list or sizes, target screen height, city, finish notes if known, and whether you need supply only or supply and install. We will price from scope. We will not invent a starting price that ignores your wind, height, and access realities.
